Question 1

How much does a website cost?

Accepted Answer

A three-page website is $999 one time, plus applicable tax, paid 50% to start and 50% at launch. The domain is $49 to set up. If you start on the Foundation plan ($199/month) or the Visibility plan ($459/month) with a 6-month minimum, the website drops to $499, paid the same way: half to start, half at launch, and the plan starts billing at launch.

Question 2

Is it a one-time fee or monthly?

Accepted Answer

Both are available. The website is $999 one time, and 30 days after launch you take it over with a one-time $199 handover into your own accounts. Most clients pair it with a monthly plan instead: with the $199 Foundation plan the website drops to $499, and we handle hosting, changes, and getting you on Google. That one has a 6-month minimum, then it's month to month.

Question 3

What do the monthly plans include?

Accepted Answer

Basic Care ($49/month) covers hosting, maintenance and bug fixes, a monthly site check, domain renewal, and one batched edit a month. Foundation ($199/month) adds your Google Business Profile, Google Search Console, speed fixes, and search groundwork, with 2 batched edits a month. Visibility ($459/month) adds Google Analytics, monthly search and visitor numbers, and ongoing search work, with 4 batched edits a month. Each plan includes everything in the one before it, plus unlimited simple edits and a one-page snapshot every month.

Question 4

What are simple edits and batched edits?

Accepted Answer

Simple edits are small changes like a typo, a price, a phone number, your hours, or a one-line text change. They're unlimited on every plan and go live by end of day or end of week. For bigger changes, you send one list of updates to your existing pages and we do it in one pass: that's a batched edit. Basic Care includes one a month, Foundation 2, and Visibility 4. Unused edits don't roll over. Need more in a month? It waits until next month, or we quote it before starting. A long list of simple edits sent at once counts as a batched edit, and new pages and layout changes are quoted separately.

Question 5

Is there an activation fee or a contract?

Accepted Answer

Basic Care has no activation fee and no minimum. Foundation has a $599 activation fee, or you can skip the fee with a 3-month minimum. Visibility is $399 or a 1-month minimum when you move up from Foundation, or $999 or a 2-month minimum if you start there. With a new $499 website, the 6-month minimum replaces the activation fee. After any minimum, plans are month to month with 30 days' notice to cancel.

Question 6

What happens if I cancel early?

Accepted Answer

If you end a minimum term early, the remaining months are due. If you took the $499 website, you pay the $500 balance on the build instead and monthly billing stops. Your Google accounts stay yours and your site stays on Google either way. Leaving a plan entirely? A one-time $199 handover moves your site into your own accounts.

Question 7

How long does a build take?

Accepted Answer

Most builds are completed in two to three weeks from the time all content and brand assets are provided.

Question 8

Do I own my website?

Accepted Answer

Your domain is registered in your name, so it's legally yours, and your business Google accounts belong to you from day one. While you're on a monthly plan, LucentDev hosts the site for you. If you skip the plan, or leave one after its minimum term, a one-time $199 handover moves the code, hosting, and domain into your own accounts.

Question 9

Will my site show up on Google?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every site is set up so Google can find it from day one. The Foundation plan adds your Google Business Profile so you show up on Google Maps too. Ranking for searches like "barbershop McAllen" takes a few months of steady work, which is what the plans cover.

Question 10

What kinds of businesses do you build for?

Accepted Answer

Primarily local small businesses: restaurants, barbershops, salons, gyms, law offices, contractors, and similar service businesses in South Texas and beyond.

Question 11

Can I add features later?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Pages and features can be added anytime as one-time add-ons, from a contact form with spam protection to a gallery page or online ordering. Add-ons that change your website need it hosted with LucentDev, on any monthly plan or within the 30-day fix window. Google setups like your Business Profile work for any business.

Question 12

Who actually builds my website?

Accepted Answer

LucentDev builds every site personally. There are no account managers, no junior staff, and no outsourced development. Every project is handled directly from first call to final delivery. We can also help with creating a logo.

Question 13

What do I need to provide to get started?

Accepted Answer

Your logo, brand colors if you have them, any photos of your business, and the copy for each page: your services, prices, hours, and contact information. If you do not have photos yet, professional placeholders are used during the build and swapped in when ready.

Question 14

What if I already have a website?

Accepted Answer

We can review your existing site before the build starts and carry over anything worth keeping, like copy, photos, and Google reviews. The new site is built from scratch on a modern stack, not a theme or template.

Question 15

Can I make changes to my site after it launches?

Accepted Answer

You won't need to do it yourself. Text us what to change. Small things like a price or your hours are simple edits: unlimited on every plan and usually live the same day or that week. Every plan also includes batched edits for bigger changes. If you'd rather edit text and photos yourself, the self-edit content manager add-on makes that possible.

Question 16

What happens if something breaks after launch?

Accepted Answer

For the first 30 days after launch, anything not working as built is fixed at no charge. After that, every monthly plan covers maintenance and bug fixes, with a monthly site check. Sites that take payments or orders add Live Systems Care ($99/month), which includes a monthly test order and same-day response when something breaks. The site runs on Vercel, which has enterprise-grade infrastructure and automatic failover.

Question 17

Is my site mobile-friendly?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every build is designed mobile-first: the phone layout is designed before the desktop layout. A fixed bottom navigation bar keeps your primary call to action visible on mobile at all times.

Question 18

What platform is my site built on?

Accepted Answer

It's custom-built rather than a template like Wix or Squarespace, so it loads fast and you're not locked into a builder's monthly fee. Under the hood it's Next.js on Vercel, the same stack engineering teams at large technology companies use.
